Carova Beach is a small, unincorporated community tucked into the northernmost tip of the Outer Banks in Currituck County, North Carolina. It sits just south of the Virginia border, separated from the rest of the OBX by one simple fact: the paved road ends in Corolla, and Carova begins.
To reach Carova, you leave NC-12 in Corolla, air down your tires, and drive north on the beach itself. There are no traffic lights, no convenience stores, no mini-golf courses, and no fast food. What you'll find instead is wide, open beach, fresh salt air, and a pace of life that reminds you what vacation is actually for.
Carova is one of the few remaining places on the East Coast where you can truly get away from it all — and still come back to a comfortable, well-appointed beach home at the end of the day.
